Madrid is having its moment — Formula 1 arriving, fashion and gastronomy booming, and a luxury hotel field that has exploded since the Four Seasons, the Mandarin Oriental Ritz and Rosewood Villa Magna all landed within a few years of each other. What the capital never had was a Nobu, in a country where the brand already runs San Sebastián, Barcelona, Marbella and Ibiza. That gap closes on 1 September, when Nobu Hotel Madrid opens on Calle Alcalá in Las Cortes, between Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta del Sol.

The Restaurant Is the Hotel
Fifty rooms wrapped around a three-storey restaurant, bar and lounge tells you the business model: this is a dining destination with beds, aimed as much at Madrileños as at guests. GRONDA’s tri-level design — harmony, materiality, light, in the studio’s words — plus the rooftop makes it the capital’s most ambitious restaurant opening of the year, never mind hotels. Hargan says the hotel “will serve as an urban sanctuary”; the more interesting promise is priority restaurant access for guests, which at any Nobu in a new city is worth real money for the first six months.

How Much Does Nobu Hotel Madrid Cost?
For a late-September midweek stay (22–24 September, safely after the Formula 1 crowds have gone), the entry-level Deluxe Room starts from about €635 per night room-only — around €725 with breakfast — taxes and charges included, while the top suite currently bookable online, the Junior Suite with Terrace, runs closer to €1,425 per night with breakfast. The 105 sqm Nobu Suite isn’t listed on the booking sites yet; for that one, go direct to the hotel.
