Luxury travel Inspiration

about me

I’m Julie and I currently spent about half of my time in Bali and the other half traveling to fantastic destinations around the world. I LOVE traveling, Yoga, and Scuba diving. I am sharing extraordinary places and adventures with you. This is not a backpacker type site. If you want to maximize your holidays and have amazing experiences, this site if for you! I want to give you practical tips on how to enjoy amazing vacations in the most comfortable way possible. From long luxury week-ends to diving trips or 2 weeks adventures to very remote places.

Travelling for work

The first half of my life was dominated with hard corporate work. I got an MBA at Harvard Business School. And then worked for a top management consulting firm for 12 years. As busy as I was, I was living the work hard, play hard life.
My busy life schedule and work exposed me to the beauty of travelling. I would take each work trip as an opportunity to explore a new destination in every place I could. I have much to thanks my work for as it has taken me to over 20 countries, giving me plenty of opportunities for long weekends.I have explored safari in the Masai Mara, enjoyed a SPA trip on the Dead Sea, and also visited the ruins of Bagan in Myanmar.

Traveling beyond work

As a passionate traveller, I tend to explore newer destinations during my holidays. I have already visited the 92 countries in red on the map below and plan to continually visit new ones during the remaining half of my life.My search for beauty wherever I could find it never stops

Most trips have been luxurious in their own way. For instance, I recently spent a week at the four seasons Nam Hai on the beach in Hoi An. But I also lived off the grid on a small island in Alor in Indonesia for a week which is also luxurious but in a different way.

Have a look at my definition of Luxury travel and see if it resonates with yours.

My search for WOWtravel moments is endless.

I tend to get so blown away by the surrounding beauty that I sometimes find it hard to speak about my experience, let alone write about it.

My top wow travel moments:

1. Diving with Dolphins at Komodo national park
2. Witnessing the washing of Amritsar golden temple at 2 am in the morning
3. Spa afternoon at the Four Season Nam Hai in Hoi An
4. Having a champagne picnic on our own private island at Yasawa resort in Fiji
5. Doing Yoga and meditation at the Yoga Barn in Ubud
6. Finding bliss at a yoga retreat in Goa, India
7. Celebrating my 40th birthday with 6 of my best friends at the Six Senses Con Dao
8. Diving with 30 bull sharks in Fiji
9. Being invited to the house of a tribe’s chief in East Timor
10. Witnessing a Lion fight at sunset in a private reserve while at Eagle View Camp

I have learned so much from those trips and this is the reason for creating this site to share my experiences with friends and colleagues who may be confused by the best locations to travel to. There are a very few independent travel review websites and it is essential that busy people get practical and more realistic travel tips more than ever. I will give you the best travel tips and independent travel reviews on new amazing destinations to explore that are often off the beaten track. My end goal is to get you to travel more.

Oh yes, and I love diving and yoga so you might find a bit more info on the best diving trips in the world or places to chill out. I am also a frustrated environmentalist ( whatever that means…) and do try to bring up eco-friendly travel opportunities.

Travelling has many health benefits , even reading reviews and planning a trip is beneficial so enjoy browsing through my website.

And please share your opinion about this site. What was helpful to you? Unhelpful?
