Sustainability
Sustainability is a lens I apply across all the travel I’ve done in 135 countries, looking closely at how hotels, operators, and destinations actually manage their environmental and community impact. I favor firsthand observation, asking about water use, waste, staff employment, and conservation programs directly on-site rather than relying on marketing claims. As a diver, I’ve seen reef and marine health up close, which shapes how seriously I take operators’ sustainability claims. This category highlights the places and practices I believe are genuinely making an effort, not just greenwashing. Represent a sustainable travel brand or eco-lodge?
