The lovely Seachange Apartments are located in Trinity Beach and are a fantastic option for families looking for a tranquil beach holiday around Cairns. It is merely 30 minutes away from Cairns. I was looking for a holiday full of fun and adventure, but also relaxation. For me, fun and relaxation are equally important. Believe it or not, Cairns is a place where you can enjoy both.
How to Get to Seachange Apartments
Trinity Beach is about a 30-minute drive from Cairns and the airport. You can easily take a taxi or an Uber from the airport terminal. An Uber ride will cost around 40 Australian dollars.
Another excellent option is to rent a car. It is quite easy to drive around Cairns as the traffic is slow, and it gives you more flexibility to move around at your own pace. The lovely landscape along the ride to the property was highly pleasurable. It is worth noting that some Seachange Apartments rates include a free rental car, so be sure to check this offer when you book.
Checking In
I arrived around 5 PM and was greeted by a smiling employee. She gave me the keys, a practical map of the local area, and excellent advice on where to go for dinner nearby.
I met the owners, Erich and Stephanie, the next day. They have recently taken over Seachange Apartments and are incredibly friendly and dynamic. They shared more valuable local tips and even lent me a car for the day.
TIP: The reception closes every day at 5 PM, so make sure you get everything you need or coordinate your arrival before that time.
Inside Seachange Apartments
Seachange occupies prime real estate right on Trinity Beach.
The Cairns Seachange Apartments are absolute beachfront. Furthermore, the apartment building looks just as good on the exterior as it does on the interior. The impressive white building stands in stark contrast with the deep blue water of the sea, making for a very picturesque holiday scene.
I stayed in a two-bedroom roof deck apartment. The tropical coastal décor of the condo perfectly complimented the overall laid-back vibe of Trinity Beach.

My Cairns Seachange Apartment came with an open-plan living area, two large bedrooms, and a well-stocked modern kitchen. Everything looked sleek and well-maintained. The apartment was super comfortable and even featured a private jacuzzi in the bathroom, which I thoroughly enjoyed after a busy day of sightseeing.

The king-sized bed was layered with the plushest linens. The soft mattress helped me sleep in for hours and laze around comfortably in the mornings.

What made my apartment truly special was the oversized roof terrace overlooking the sea. It must have been well over 100 square meters! It featured a private barbecue area, a few sun lounge chairs, a shaded gazebo, and a large outdoor dining table. It is an absolutely perfect place to chill out.

There is also a beautifully landscaped swimming pool located on the ground floor. It is worth noting that some of the ground-floor apartments feature a private terrace with direct walk-out access to the swimming pool, which is also quite lovely.

The Food at Seachange Apartments
There are no on-site restaurants at Seachange Apartments, but you will find a wonderful selection of local dining spots just a few minutes’ walk away down the beachfront esplanade.
TIP: Seachange Apartments do offer a convenient pre-arrival grocery service so that your apartment kitchen can be fully stocked with food before you check in. I didn’t use it as I was traveling alone on this trip and preferred eating out, but this service would be incredibly helpful for families traveling with young kids.
What to Do in Trinity Beach
Trinity Beach is a small, quiet, and tranquil coastal tourist village. If you are actively looking for a wild nightlife scene and trendy high-end restaurants, this might not be the place for you—you will likely be happier staying in central Cairns or Port Douglas. You can read my comprehensive review of the Cairns Shangri-La here.
However, Trinity Beach and Seachange are absolutely perfect if you are looking for a quiet beach vacation while still easily taking advantage of the main reef and rainforest tours available in Cairns.
Walking on Trinity Beach
Walking along the shoreline is a highly popular daily activity here. It takes about 30 minutes to stroll comfortably to the end of the beach, and there is a well-maintained paved sidewalk path all along the coast.
TIP: If you walk all the way to the right side of the beach, there is a spectacular viewpoint trail up on the cliffside. It takes only about 10 minutes to walk there from the Seachange property.
Wildlife Watching Tours
If you love nature and native animals, this day excursion is an absolute must. I saw more of Australia’s most unique native animals in a single day than during my previous six visits combined to Cairns and the surrounding region. You can read my full Wait-a-While wildlife tour review here.

Snorkeling or Diving on the Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the largest and most significant coral reef system in the world. It is incredibly easy to arrange full day trips out to the outer reef for either snorkeling or scuba diving. Most of the top-rated local tour boat operators will pick you up directly from Trinity Beach.

Conclusions
The Cairns Seachange Apartments serve as an excellent base from which to discover the beauty of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. It is the absolute perfect match for self-catering families, as they offer pristine apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms. The apartments are beautifully designed, spacious, and kept in pristine condition. Moreover, hats off to the wonderful owners who are incredibly attentive and always willing to help. The immediate proximity right onto the sand is a crucial advantage, and I would love to return to Cairns Seachange Apartments on my next trip.
