Miskawaan Villa is a luxury private pool villa complex located right on the beach of the northern coast of Koh Samui, Thailand.
It is divine to be lounging by your own private pool, only 3 meters from the sea. Read on for my review with practical tips.

How to Get to Samui
Samui is easily accessible by direct flight from Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.
From the airport, it is roughly a 30-minute drive to the Miskawaan Luxury Beachfront Villas. The hotel can organize airport pick-up in a private car.
TIP: We did ask the driver to stop at Tesco Lotus, the biggest supermarket on the island, on the way so that we could stock up on snacks and drinks for the villa.
Check-In at Miskawaan Villa
The property is composed of 11 beachfront villas, each with a private pool and direct access to a natural stretch of beach.
We booked Villa Frangipani, a 5-bedroom villa right on the beach which accommodates up to 10 people.
Our driver dropped us directly at our villa.
Our villa manager was waiting for us with welcome drinks. She gave us some practical information about the house and Samui.
Within 30 minutes of arriving, we were swimming in the pool.

Review of The Miskawaan Villa Frangipani
Villa Frangipani is a spacious beachfront villa.
The villa is perfect with a lounge, kitchen, and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. We were assisted by a remarkable villa manager, chef, and maids.
Villa Frangipani is gorgeous.
One side of the house is occupied by an outdoor dining area, a large living room, and a kitchen. The villa is large and affords guests room to socialize as well as places for privacy.
The master bedroom is located at the front of the villa next to the swimming pool. The master has a large bed and a large bathroom with a sunken bathtub. It is facing the ocean, so you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The remaining bedrooms are nestled in the back and enjoy garden views. They are also comfortable, albeit a bit smaller, and do not feature a bathtub.
TIP: There were many mosquitoes in the bedrooms. The villa provided a mosquito plug-in repellent, but it was not enough. I recommend getting a few extra ones, as the master bedroom is too big for just one plug-in.
The pool is located in the center of the house and is just next to the beach. What a relaxing setting this is.

The Wi-Fi works exceptionally well.
We spent our days alternating between swimming in the sea, dipping in the pool, and lounging on the chairs provided.
The waves in front of the house are very gentle, making it highly suitable for children.
TIP: Do not forget to bring an inflatable air mattress.
The sunsets were extraordinary moments, and we enjoyed getting in the sea with a drink to watch it.
TIP: If you swim (or kayak) 30–50 meters away from the shore, you can actually see the full sunset clear of obstructions.

The location of Miskawaan Villa Samui is excellent—right on the beach, yet it still offers perfect privacy.

The Food at Miskawaan Villa Samui
We could choose to eat in the villa and have the chef cook for us or go out to one of the numerous nearby restaurants.
Food prepared by the villa chefs was good. Dishes were fresh, original, well-seasoned, and delicious.
The villa features a fully equipped kitchen.
All we had to do was inform our villa manager in the morning of what we would like for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
The BBQ dinner was also fantastic. Scallops on the shell, lobsters, and shrimp were all cooked to absolute precision.
Each day we were allowed to choose the time for our breakfast to be served. We were told any dietary restrictions could easily be met. Also, if something wasn’t offered on the menu that we wanted, the chef would gladly try to make it.
What is excellent about Miskawaan Villas is that they are only a 5-minute walk from a busy street filled with 10–20 restaurants. We went out for dinner a few times. Our favorite local spots included Babu’s and Passa.

Activities at Miskawaan Villa Samui
The daily program while staying at Miskawaan Luxury Beachfront Villas goes roughly like this: Wake up to the sound of the waves → Swim in the sea → Swim in the pool → Lounge on a chair by the beach → Float on your inflatable mattress → Repeat.
Some days, we also added kayaking to the mix. Kayaks are provided free of charge by Miskawaan Luxury Beachfront Villas.
There is a massage spot on the beach near the villas if you walk to the left. It’s not the most upscale facility, but it is great to have a massage by the sound of the waves, and the rates are quite affordable.
There is also a small gym within the villa complex if you feel like exercising.
To be honest, we were so comfortable lounging in the villa that our grand plans to explore Samui got a bit side-tracked. But if you feel inspired, there is much to explore.
The villa manager can easily help with renting a car or a motorbike to go and explore the island. Self-driving is highly possible as the roads are quite good and the traffic is generally relaxed.
There are night markets, cafes, and bars within short walking distance.
The Fisherman’s Village and Chaweng beach are just a short ride away. The hotel can also arrange various day tours around the island.
Possible excursions include visiting other beaches, jet skiing, kite surfing, trips to national marine parks, eco safaris at Na Muang, elephant sanctuaries, and local cooking lessons.
See my articles for more information on the top things to do, including diving in Koh Samui.

Conclusion of Miskawaan Luxury Beachfront Villas Review
Samui is the perfect destination for people looking for a relaxed beach holiday. It features excellent restaurants and plenty of sightseeing activities should you wish to be more active. It is a lot less crowded and more upscale than other popular destinations in Thailand like Phuket or Pattaya. Miskawaan Luxury Beachfront Villas are incredibly comfortable and make the perfect choice for families or groups of friends wanting to unwind directly on the beach.
