How to get to Samastiti Beachfront Villa Rental in Lovina?

The Samastiti villa by the sea is located in Bali’s north coast, 5 minutes away from the town of Lovina. The area offers amazing views of the ocean and the mountains.

It is about 3 hours away from the Denpasar airport. I booked it through the villa and their driver was waiting for me at the airport. The road is quite scenic and we did many interesting stops along the way so it felt like going on an excursion. The transfer, including all the stops, is affordable at 700000 rpies ( about 50 USD). The villa driver is friendly and knows the road and activities well.

As I arrived in the morning, we were able to do a few stops on the way to the Mengwi temple

Checking in at Samastiti villa rental in Lovina

The check-in at this rental is easy and straightforward as I learned from my previous experience at the Samastiti villa in Ubud. Prior to arrival, you should provide your ETA, so they make sure the housekeeper is ready to welcome you in the villa.

You will be shown the premises and be offered fresh drinks. A nice detail is that they keep a guestbook with recommendations for nearby entertainment and restaurants.

Review of the villa and bedrooms in Samastiti in Lovina

The architecture in this beachfront villa rental in Lovina is somewhere in the middle between classic and modern. Once you arrive and do the check-in, it is very easy to relax to the sound of the nearby sea, the breeze moving the palm trees, and the mountain landscape with flower fields.

The house features three bedrooms, each with a private ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom feels and looks like a spa. The bathroom is part of the room and is luxurious, with a stone bathtub offering ocean views. I loved the large panoramic windows.

It had an amazing Seaview but was even more special at night as I could watch the starts from my bed. The bed is large and comfortable and has a mosquito net. I slept very well but could sometimes hear music coming from the neighborhood from the upstairs bedroom. ( the downstairs bedroom could not hear it)

Tip: Bring a mosquito plug in and mosquito repellent as there are mosquitos in the villa.

There are two more bedrooms, one of them with direct access to the pool.

The downstairs living room has floor-to-ceiling glass fronts that allow excellent sea views. The upstairs living room overlooks the surrounding rice fields. There is a separate TV room with an entertainment system and a gym corner with yoga mats for a pleasant indoor stay.

One thing I like is that the villa is surrounded by all kinds of terraces and spaces to enjoy nature, where you can sit, relax or dine. The private garden offers sun chairs to enjoy the daylight and a gazebo to indulge in evening drinks.

The infinity pool is really nice. It’s a 15-meter, partly covered pool with views of the sea and a small garden. It’s not too close to the beach, but this is good if you want some privacy.

There is also a fire pit close to the beach. The partly covered pool is a great idea, as I was able to swim or relax in the pool even on rainy days!

Moreover, the hosts offer extra services like a cleaning service six days a week, a gardener, and even a dining menu in case you don’t want to cook or go to a restaurant. There is a housekeeper to attend to all your needs and requests, like booking tours, babysitting, or yoga classes.

Review of The Love Shack cottage in Lovina

If you come in a larger group, you can rent the beautiful cottage right next to the Samastiti villa. The cottage is called “The love shack” and can accommodate two more people in a romantic wooden house.

The cottage is quite cozy and just as comfortable as the villa itself, so it’s ok to rent it separately. It’s a favorite for honeymoons and romantic escapades.

It features one bedroom and one bathroom. Facilities include the fastest internet in Bali, air conditioning, a TV, a coffee machine, a microwave, and a small fridge. The stone bathtub in the bathroom offers views of the ocean.

The love shack is nestled in a 600 sqm garden directly by the beach. The garden hosts a beautiful terrace, a lounge chair and a dining table.

The cottage doesn’t have its own pool like the one next door (the main villa), but the beach is right there!

It’s a simple accommodation but it still offers all the advantages of the Samastiti rental: the ocean, the views, and the sunsets.

What to do in North Bali?

The Samastiti villa and the love shack are located in the peaceful fishermen’s village of Temukus, perfect for a getaway like this.

But the more lively town of Lovina is located just five minutes away in case you’re looking for more supermarkets, shops or restaurants with trendy local cuisine. It is still very relaxed compared to the South of Bali, and it is uncommon to see traffic around here.

Moreover, North Bali is wonderful, full of nature and stunning sights. Waterfalls, temples and dolphins are just a few of the things you can expect in this region, safe from the tourist crowd.

The housekeeper organized a dolphin-watching tour for us. It is affordable at 200000 rpies per person ( about 10 USD)  and lasted about 2.5 hours. The private wooden boat came to pick us up at sunrise just in front of the villa. It was incredible to see so many dolphins. The sunrise over the ocean was also worth seeing. On the way back, we bought a fresh tuna from a local fisherman and we grilled it on the fire pit by the sea. It was very special!

There are also plenty of things to do. Snorkeling, diving, and all sorts of water sports are available. The Krishna water sport beach club is 5-minute walk on the beach to the right side of the villa.

The Banjar hot springs are a 10-minute drive from the villa and also worth a visit. My skin was so soft after soaking in the hot water for 1 hour.

Make sure you spend some time on the beach around sunset. They are often stunning. Below is the view from the beach in front of the villa.

If you’re looking for more adventures, check out my experience visiting the hidden gems of Singaraja (Bali’s old capital) and more to the northwest, the West Bali National Park and the Menjangan island.

In Conclusion of my review of Samastiti by the beach Lovina

North Bali has a lot to offer and is yet to be spoiled by tourism and the masses so evident in the rest of Bali. The rental prices for beautiful villas and cottages are also unparalleled. The Samastiti villa is really luxurious and comfortable for a very affordable price.
