Finnish Lapland’s luxury boom has a pattern: glass igloos, aurora domes, design cabins — hardware first, hosts second. Arcora, opening 14 December in Torassieppi near Muonio, inverts it. The 59-key retreat on the edge of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is the next chapter of a third-generation family business — the Pietikäinen family has shaped adventure travel here since 1973 — and its defining product is the four brothers themselves.

The Owners Are the Product
Every luxury lodge claims local knowledge; almost none can put the owning family on the snowmobile next to you. Arcora’s “By Owner” programme is the honest version of the promise — the brothers guiding guests through terrain their family has worked for over fifty years, with the stories and side doors that come only with ownership. Readers of this site know exactly where I stand on this model: Ol Malo in Kenya, the Colquhouns’ inn on Loch Lomond and Saint Roch in Courchevel all prove that family continuity beats hardware — and a rooftop infinity pool steaming at minus twenty, under the aurora, suggests Arcora intends to win on both.
The brothers are stitched into the building, too: the suites and villas carry their names — Jouni the storyteller, Kalle the technician, Jussi the quiet organiser, Antti the photographer and early northern-lights guide. The four “By Owner” adventures — snowmobiling, husky safari, reindeer safari and national-park snowshoeing — are sold privately from £2,135 for one to four people, with extra guests at £427 each.
Tip: for the inaugural season, aim mid-January to mid-March — polar night lifts, aurora activity stays high, and the deep-snow experiences (huskies, snowshoeing) are at their best. December carries opening-week magic but the shortest light of the year.
How Much Does Arcora Cost?
The published rate is from £750 per night for two, including breakfast and spa access. Arcora is already loadable for the first season: for a late-January midweek stay (25–27 January 2027, two nights, two adults), the entry-level Junior Suite — 30 m², fell view — comes out at €1,748 for the two nights, about €874 per night including taxes and charges, with continental breakfast included on a pay-online, non-refundable rate. The Executive Suite (43 m², with its own sauna and spa bath) runs €2,072 for the same two nights, roughly €1,036 a night. Those figures sit close to the sterling headline rate rather than above it, which is unusual for an opening season — but inventory is 59 keys across a four-month window, so expect it to firm up.
Check the rate on Booking.com — the only third-party site carrying Arcora at the time of writing, and the source of the figures above. Expedia and Trip.com had no Arcora inventory when I checked, so for villas, longer stays and the Arcora Stay packages you’ll need to book direct.

Reservations are open at arcora.fi for the 14 December 2026 – 18 April 2027 season, from £750 per night including breakfast and spa access. For the inaugural season the hotel is selling all-inclusive Arcora Stays direct from €3,180 per person for three nights and €4,200 for four, both covering return Kittilä or Enontekiö airport transfers, all meals, winter clothing, guided Arctic experiences and daily spa access.
