Papua Explorers wins the logistics contest comfortably. It is reached by speedboat from Sorong on essentially the same roughly two-hour run to the Waisai area that the northern liveaboards use — I have done that crossing more than once, and it is smooth and well organized. Misool is the deeper commitment: the resort lies far to the south, and the longer journey is part of what keeps its reefs so empty.
