Getting to the Double Six Luxury Hotel
The Double Six Luxury Hotel is located on the beach in Semyniak. It is about a 30-minute drive from the airport. From the airport, it is easy to get an airport taxi or even a Grab car. Grab is the local equivalent of Uber. They have a counter at the airport and can help you order a taxi even if you don’t have the app. The cost for official airport taxis and Grab cars is about the same.
The Double Six is located in the Southern part of Seminyak. It is an area that has been affected by COVID-19, and you can still see many abandoned buildings or buildings undergoing renovation. The area seems to have lost many of its trendy boutiques and restaurants. They have been replaced by tourist shops and tattoo parlors more common in the Kuta area.
Checking in to the Double Six Luxury Hotel.
Checking in was very smooth. Upon arrival, I made my way to the check-in counter. They took a photo of my passport and my credit card details, and I was escorted to the 66 suites. Once in the suite, we received the welcome cocktail. It was a fancy green, fuming granita drink and was very refreshing.

While there are more luxurious hotels on the beach in Seminyak ( the Legian, the Oberoi,…), the Double Six hotel’s prices are hard to beat.
The hotel offers a total of 146 rooms and suites, each designed with modern amenities and stylish furnishings. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and provide panoramic views of the ocean or the hotel’s lush gardens.
TIP: It is worth paying a bit extra to get a seafront room. Beach bars occupy the area in front of the hotel, and you need a room on floors three to five to be able to enjoy the Seaview from your terrace.
Review of the pool and the beach at the Double Six Luxury Hotel
The Double Six Luxury Resort in Bali boasts a stunning pool and beach area, offering guests a luxurious and relaxing space to soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The pool area is expansive, stretching 120 meters in length, and features crystal-clear waters that invite guests to take a refreshing dip.
The pool area is well-appointed with plenty of comfortable lounge chairs and daybeds, providing ample space for guests to relax, unwind, and enjoy the warm Bali sun. At any time of the day, it would be easy to find available lounge chairs. Guests can lounge by the poolside with a refreshing drink in hand, read a book, or simply soak up the tranquil atmosphere.
Beyond the pool area lies the stunning Seminyak beach. Here, guests can sink their toes into the golden sand and listen to the soothing sound of the waves as they roll in. The beach stretches out over several kilometers, providing ample space for guests to take a leisurely stroll or enjoy a range of water activities.
During my stay in October, the beach was covered in plastic trash. The tractor would try and clean it up in the morning, but it wasn’t enough.
TIP: Plastic pollution is becoming a huge problem in Bali. Please do your part and minimize your use of plastic bottles and single-use plastic. The hotel provides drinking water in glass bottles, a step in the right direction.
The Double Six Luxury Resort provides all the amenities that guests need to fully enjoy the beach, including beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. There is also a beachfront bar where guests can sip on refreshing cocktails and take in the stunning views of the ocean.
The waves are consistent and great for people wanting to learn to surf. You can find surf instructors on the beach. For about 13 USD, you can get a private lesson, and chances are, you will be able to stand on the board a few times after the first hour! And if that doesn’t work, make sure to at least try a bodyboard; we did it every morning, and it was a lot of fun.
Overall, the pool and beach area at the Double Six Luxury Resort is a true highlight of the property. With its expansive pool and direct access to the stunning Seminyak beach, it offers guests a truly unforgettable experience.
Review of the 66 suite at the Double Six Luxury Hotel
Suite 66 is the most luxurious accommodation at the hotel, offering guests an experience that is both opulent and unforgettable. The suite is located on the top two floors of the hotel, providing stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. It offers over 800 square meters with a kitchen and a dining area.
The suite itself is beautifully decorated with elegant furnishings and intricate patterns. The living room features plush sofas and armchairs and a 180-degree view over the ocean. There is a TV room with a large flat-screen TV and a sound system.
The paintings in the suite are another story. Most of them are naked women in evocative positions, which might not be to everyone’s taste, Especially if you are traveling with children.
The 66 suite has three bedrooms, and all of them have a sea view and comfortable attached bathrooms.
The master bedroom is the most impressive, with a king-size bed, high-quality linens, and an oversized sitting area.
The master bathroom in Suite 66 is a true masterpiece, featuring a marble jacuzzi bathtub, a rain shower, and a vanity area. The bathroom also offers stunning views of the ocean, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery while they relax and unwind. All the amenities are from Hermes, adding a touch of luxury.
One of the highlights of Suite 66 is the huge private outdoor terrace, which offers panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. The terrace covers two floors and is furnished with comfortable seating options, as well as a private plunge pool and Jacuzzi, making it the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.
I really enjoyed watching the sunset from the terrace. Unfortunately, the beach in front of the hotel is occupied by three beach bars. They all play live music simultaneously, and as the sound travels up, it often sounds chaotic on the terrace. Fortunately, most of them stopped playing music around 10 or 11 pm, allowing us to have a quiet night of sleep.
Tip: Make sure you keep the windows closed if you are not in the suite. Weather on the seafront can be unpredictable, and we have had a few big storms coming out of nowhere. The wind and the rain battered the terrace, which would have damaged the apartment had the doors been left open. One of the storms was so strong that some of the heavy wooden furniture on the terrace flew away!

Review of the breakfast and the food at the Double Six Luxury Hotel
The breakfast at the Double Six Luxury Hotel is a nice experience that offers guests a wide range of delicious options to start their day off right. The hotel offers a buffet-style breakfast that includes both local and international cuisine and is served in the spectacular rooftop restaurant. This rooftop is actually the highest point in Semyniak, so you can enjoy views over the whole area.
The buffet features an impressive selection of dishes, including fresh fruits, pastries, yogurts, cereals, and juices. For those who prefer a heartier breakfast, hot dishes are also available, such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and grilled tomatoes. The hotel also offers a range of Asian-inspired dishes, such as rice porridge, noodles, and dim sum, perfect for those who want to sample the local cuisine.
One of the highlights of the breakfast experience is the live cooking stations, where guests can watch as chefs prepare dishes such as omelets and waffles to order. This adds an element of excitement to the breakfast, making it an interactive and engaging experience for guests. There is a huge variety of food to choose from, ranging from very tasty to average. The bread and cheese selection was a bit of a letdown.
The waiters are attentive and friendly, always ready to assist with any requests or dietary requirements.
TIP: Besides the buffet breakfast, you can also order a choice of dishes from the a la carte menu. Those can also be delivered straight to your room.
The hotel has three restaurants and a room service menu. Food and drink prices were reasonable for a five-star hotel. The Plantation Grill is the hotel’s signature restaurant, which serves steaks and seafood. The Sling Bar offers a range of classic cocktails, while the Rooftop Sunset Bar offers a relaxed atmosphere and panoramic views of the sunset. The hotel also has a poolside bar that serves refreshing drinks and light bites.
TIP: If you need more diversity, you can also have Grab food deliver from most restaurants in Semyniak. Grab food is the equivalent of Uber Eat. They are not allowed to enter the hotel, but there is a convenient Grab delivery point in the underground parking of the hotel.
Where to get a massage in Seminyak?
The Double Six Luxury hotel has a trendy-looking spa. The spa offers a range of treatments, including massages, facials, and body wraps, all designed to promote relaxation and rejuvenation.
My favorite massage place in Bali is, however, Jari Menari, located a mere 10-minute drive from the hotel. It is definitely worth trying out. Jari Menari is a world-renowned spa that offers guests a range of luxurious treatments and services. One of the highlights of the spa is its perfect massage, a unique blend of deep tissue massage and Swedish massage techniques. This massage is designed to alleviate stress, improve circulation, and promote relaxation, making it the perfect way to unwind after a long day.
The massage itself is performed in one of the spa’s private treatment rooms, designed to provide maximum comfort and relaxation. The therapist uses a combination of firm pressure and gentle strokes to work on the muscles and relieve tension, helping guests to feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
In addition to the signature massage, Jari Menari also offers a range of other treatments and services, including facials and reflexology. Guests can also choose to book a couples massage, a perfect way to share a relaxing experience with a loved one.
If you are looking for an affordable foot massage, I recommend Reborn in Kuta. You can get two hours of high-quality reflexology for about 13 USD. It offers incredible value for money.

While the Double Six area of Bali is facing pressure from trash pollution, loud beach bars, and a decline in trendy boutiques and restaurants, the Double Six Luxury Hotel still offers incredible value for money. The regular suites are well-priced for a beachfront hotel, and you are only a few minutes’ cab ride away from the trendiest area of Seminyak. The 66 suite and its 800 square meters of entertainment space is the grandest suite of any Semyniak hotel and is worth a splurge.
